Michael Putland, the author of some of the most famous pictures of the last fifty years of music, leaves from London and arrives in Bologna, where there is an emerging publisher that will work on his first monography. At the dawn of his 70 years, he follows some great Italian musicians including Vasco Rossi, the undisputed king of Italian rock, takes new photographs. Traveling in Emilia-Romagna tells the most interesting and funny anecdotes of his career alongside many of the absolute myths of rock, revealing unpublished, surprising and curious aspects. He falls in love with Bologna and remains so fascinated that the town becomes his new and personal capital of rock, because as the photographer says with his unmistakable English accent “Italy became my second home”.
