Berlino est/ovest

Directed by Enza Negroni | |

The documentary starts from the discovery of the archive belonging to the Bolognese music manager Maurizio Stanzani. In the 1980s Maurizio decided to go to Berlin with one analog camera and an operator, filming clubs, punksand Berliner bands who were performing by the wall. The extraordinary and unique archive reveals the most incredible and transforming European capital: colored hair, eccentric leather jackets, synthpop and new wave unveil a city animated by avant-garde music groups, performers, punk clubs in occupied bunkers and discos. Stanzani’s journey is retraced today, thirty years after the fall of the wall, by Manuel Agnelli who has lived, in the divided Berlin, searching for his musical myths (David Bowie, Einstürzende Neubauten, Iggy Pop). Later, in the reunified city, he has played and performed as a prominent artist of the Italian music scene.
