In the panorama of Italian writers of the twentieth century, Roberto Roversi was one of the few who made his life the manifesto of his cultural and political choices, stepping back rom the spotlight in order to be completely autonomous from the culture industry. The production of one of his plays (never staged before) by a young and enthusiastic amateur company, represents an exceptional opportunity to make an investigation inside the “stain” that has tarnished his public image. Beyond the easy stereotypes is hidden the tireless work of a man, a poet, who devoted his whole life to finding alternative, independent and free ways to produce culture
