L'angoscia e l'estasi

Directed by Nicolò Manzolini | |

On 14th July 1933, the French writer Raymond Roussel dies in mysterious circumstances at the Hotel Le Palme in Palermo. He locks himself in his room, undresses, takes sleeping pills, drags the mattress into the middle of the room and lies down. Under his window, the procession of Santa Rosalia is going on. The next morning, his assistant and the hotel bellboy find him dead. That night Roussel crosses a line that is unacceptable to him, the line between reality and imagination.
