L'imprevisto

For Sara’s birthday, she and her Senegalese boyfriend, Omar, decide to treat themselves to a sushi dinner by stealing the ingredients in a supermarket. The Gambian vigilante, Lamin, catches them red-handed and leads them to the surveillance room before calling the authorities. That is a terrible situation because Omar, getting a compliant, risks to see its residency permit denied once for all. Sara knows that, so she tries to appease the vigilante’s soul in every possible way and to convince him to let them go. Lamin, however, does not hear any reasons, raging on them and exerting a psychological pressure that brings the two guys to the point of a nervous breakdown. Lamin is offloading on the two guys all the frustration accumulated for the little discrimination gestures he has suffered over the years, such as seeing ladies clutching their handbags on the bus or watching an apporaching police car.
