Love for Steve - A film about Steve Grossman

Directed by Luisa Grosso | |

A trunk found in the cellar. It is an archive concerning one of the most brilliant musicians of ourtime: Steve Grossman (1951-2020). Three Bolognese saxophonists, for whom Grossman is the undisputed teacher, reveal the contents of the trunk retracing the career and life of the New York saxophonist, from enfant prodige (he is still a boy and already plays with Miles Davis and Elvin Jones) to fallen angel of the scene contemporary jazz. Grossman, a suffering and sublime figure, lived in Bologna for twenty years which, several times, saved his life. Saving Steve Grossman meant
saving jazz.
