Yakub arrives in Bologna when he is 17, by the end of the film he is 20. Three years of a Nigerian teenager’s journey to independence and adulthood, passing through experiences of working, training, and living with two different extended families of peers, which allow Yakub to call the city of Bologna home, despite the fact that he often tells himself this is not his final destination.
