Angelo - Il Principe del Vintage

Directed by Francesca Zerbetto | Documentary |

Angelo Caroli can rightfully be considered the pioneer of vintage fashion in Italy — and beyond. Since 1978, when he was only 17 years old, he has been collecting garments of great historical and stylistic value The story of Angelo Caroli is that of a man who managed to transform a small personal passion into something extraordinary, becoming one of the most important vintage collectors in the world. Starting with American denim, he went on to gather couture and high-fashion pieces, travelling through markets across the globe. In just twenty-four years, he built an empire — the first of its kind in Italy and among the most significant in Europe. In his A.N.G.E.L.O. Palace, a 3,000-square-meter building in Lugo di Romagna, more than 120,000 garments are preserved — a true archive of world fashion history and a heritage treasure. A genuine mecca for vintage, it attracts creative directors and style departments from the most renowned fashion houses worldwide. He collaborates on exhibitions, fashion shows, books, and university courses, and assists major fashion brands in building their archives, thanks to what he has recovered over the years — exploring trade fairs, the wardrobes of elegant ladies, and local markets around the world. Through his talent, passion, and devotion, Angelo Caroli has become a key reference point in the world of vintage fashion, both in Italy and internationally.
