L'orto americano

The American Garden is a “gothic” movie.

It tells the story of a young psychopath with literary aspirations who finds himself falling instantly in love with a young US Army nurse.

We are in fact in Bologna close to the liberation and for this problematic young man the meeting of eyes with the beautiful soldier is enough to make him consider her the woman of her life.

Fate makes a particular thing happen: a year later the man moves in the American Midwest, where he goes to live in a house adjacent to the nurse house, actually separated by a nefarious vegetable garden.

In this house lives the elderly mother who is desperate since the disappearance of her daughter and since the end of the conflict, after having written to her home that she would marry an Italian, she has no longer given any news of herself.

Thus begins a very tense search, which will make him experience a highly dramatic situation until its conclusion in Italy, which is certainly completely unexpected.
