Per espandere il proprio dipartimento di animazione Palomar (Mediawan) è alla ricerca di un/una Compositing Supervisor da inserire full time nel proprio team  da settembre (ottimo se la disponibilità è immediata). La sede del dipartimento è in Emilia-Romagna, ma il lavoro ibrido è valutabile, a seconda dell’esperienza, così come la retribuzione economica.

The Compositing Supervisor

The Compositing Supervisor at Palomar oversees all compositing aspects of Palomar’s in-house animation and live action productions.

While working with us, you will grow with our team and expand the department. If you are used to mainly work for clients, here you will find a different approach: you’re now working directly for the Production company. You’ll have the chance to work on our animation and live action in-house productions, and to collaborate on other Mediawan group projects.

Under the responsibility of the studio manager, you will collaborate with the director (on animation projects) and with our post-production team (on our live action TV series and features). You will manage and supervise a team of compositors, help producers to bid on new projects, ensure quality is consistent, produce output yourself and create a motivated team, eager to learn from your experience.

Where and when

Full time from September, better if available earlier. On site in Emilia Romagna, Italy – hybrid work is possible depending on experience. Competitive salary upon experience.

Must Have

Leading experience: you have been a Comp Supervisor, or a Lead/Senior compositor for some years and are ready to take on your next challenge. Ideally you have proven experience in both CG animation and live action. Feel free to get in touch with us if you have proven experience only in one of the two fields.

• Advanced experience in Nuke and Nuke X
• Knowledge of compositing for live action (Chroma key and 3D compositing, 2D and 3D tracking knowledge)
• Fluent English
• Able to communicate constructively with the team, with a positive and motivating attitude
• Skilled in Mocha

Nice to have

• Shotgrid
• Previous teaching experience
• Fluent Italian

Your missions

• you create Nuke templates and gizmos to be used by the team
• you assigne sequences and shots to the team, review and explain retakes
• you guarantee artistic homogeneity and hook up consistency of the shots in accordance with the director’s vision
• you make output of shots
• you maintain the schedule and production quotas in agreement with the Production team, to delivery episodes in time

In CG animation projects:

• You help the director creating the look and feel of the show
• You create the look of the master keyshots and provide them to the team as blueprint for the sequence
• You review pre-compositing and send retakes to the lighting studio (outsourced)
